Non-fic: Malleus Announcement
After careful consideration, I have decided that I will not be updating Malleus Maleficarum again until it is complete.


Losing the final chapter of Malleus when the hard drive in my laptop died very nearly caused me to abandon the story altogether. However, it also gave me the opportunity to consider where the story was headed, and made me realize that I was not satisfied with it. From the beginning, I've had a clear picture of what I wanted Malleus Maleficarum to be, and that vision does not coincide with some of the things I've written. As such, not only will I refrain from updating as I finish each chapter, but I also plan to go back and change some of the chapters that have already been posted.

Undoubtedly, the release of Deathly Hallows will make Malleus an AU story, but I don't intend to change the plot just to suit endgame canon. Its end will still coincide with the end of Half-Blood Prince, and I have no intention of allowing Deathly Hallows to influence how I view Severus and Draco in the Malleus universe.

That said, I am not pulling the chapters that have already been posted, just in case someone has linked them somewhere. Nothing bothers me quite as much as clicking a link to a story, only to find that it has been removed, and there's precious little of this pairing out there as it is. There will probably not be many changes to the chapters in question, but they will be replaced with any newer versions when I post the rest of the story.

I won't even try to estimate how long it will be before the story is finished and ready to be posted, but I will say that Malleus is, as someone else referred to it, my magnum opus. Therefore, I can't not finish it.

Thank you to everyone who has been following the story, and especially to those of you who have left me such wonderfully encouraging feedback. I hope that, in the end, I can thank you by giving you something that will make you smile, laugh, and maybe even cry.
