Someday I may post fic again . . .
. . . but until then, more random posts.

[info]severus_sighs posted their interview with [info]jadzialove, who just happens to be my beta. *squishes her*

I must point you especially to her answer to number #5, "What is it about Severus you find sexy?" because OMG it's a great answer (in under 100 words).

The woes of ... er ... well, it's about writing
My Snarry Swap fic is growing into even more of a monster than I'd thought. Argh! 11,600 words, and I'm only on part four of my plot outline. Four. Out of thirteen!

I'm so doomed.

But I love it. I seriously do. It's an amazing fic. At least, it's amazing to write. Things just flow along, and the boys talk, and stuff happens, and then backstory pops up I'd never thought about or planned. The whole thing is just amazing!

Now to finish it on time without killing myself dead.

Thurmian? Really?
You know what?
I love Galaxy Quest. I love it so much that I got the Blue Ray and I just spent an hour watching it dubbed in Thurmian. O.o
*g*
I think it's time to go to bed.

Wrisomifu...day 20
I am hoping that I will actually post during the day so that I am caught back up.

We are taking the boys to see Planet 51 while our 16 yo drags her poor boyfriend off to New Moon. I'm not entirely thrilled about them being alone in a dark theater, but I'm not having to be tortured by another Twilight movie...so it evens out in the end. :) And, she's less than a month from 16, I know I have to let go...eventually. *sigh*

I wrote out a huge email to the IM last night, and got a fairly decent reply for once. Thought that we were actually having a conversation, until she said that she just can't handle conversations because you have to get into too much detail, they only spawn longer emails, and trying to see something from the other person's point of view gives her an anxiety attack. Really, this is an adult I'm dealing with. One that has a good 15 years on me. Yet she acts worse than my teen. Labor has never looked so appealing. Hell, at this point I think I'd even give up the lovely pain drugs just to get it over with.

Some good news was delievered today, though. She is offically the childs Mother...as long as I have the baby in Cali, at least. She'd still have to go through an adoption if I delivered in any other state. So, that is the last obsticle I believe. Legal one at least. Alls that is left is for me to suffer the month away in LA, and deliver, and get the hell back home and as far away from her as possible.

After my first email to her this morning, I laid down for my usual morning nap...only I slept until after 2pm, instead of waking up around 11 like normal. And I've still been pretty tired even after that. On top of that, my cat won't leave me alone, and her track record for giving me attention isn't nice. Normally I end up in the ER not long after. The first time it happened I ended up breaking my foot that same day. (funny story, lol I fell down one step. Yes, just one. And broke my foot. I am a queen clutz. ^.^) The last few times, I've ended up with a migraine that put me in the ER, as no amount of medication made it go away. Migraines suck period, but the ones that last days at a time are just horrid. I hope I'm just being paranoid, and that she's just trying to get me to open the Pounce bottle.

Anyone read about the punkin shortage? Shocked the hell out of me. I'm glad I got my pie stuff a while back. Can't have Turkey day without the pumpkin pie. Oh, that reminds me. Does anyone know if garbage bags are food safe? My turkey is too big for the pot I normally brine it in. So I am going to have to use a cooler this year. But, I don't want the brine to stain the inside of the cooler. A garbage bag is the only thing I can think of that is big enough to use.

Please, people, It's still six days until Thanksgiving!
I am not leaving the house tomorrow. I'm not leaving the house until I have to leave for Mandalynn's 4th Birthday Party on Sunday evening.

To start out, there is the weather. If the weatherman were unable to use the word "rain," he would be totally mute.

There is the fact that the City of Sumner, the City of Bonney Lake, and Pierce County have ALL decided that this is the perfect time for really major road construction.

But mostly, it's the way that this was a great day to be a burglar. Because aside from the people who were working, every damn resident of this area spent the entire day in their car. It looks like 2 days before Christmas out there. I was ten minutes late for my hair appointment because I couldn't find a parking place in an area where there is usually a space only steps away. I ended up three blocks away in front of the liquor store. I'll be damned if I know why people aren't shopping for booze today.

As I sat for five minutes trying to make a left turn, surrounded by barriers and "Road Work' signs, I could at least take comfort in the fact that one thing they are working on is putting a fucking stop light at that intersection.

1 Folk Tale and 2 Original Fictions
A: Are you doing anything this weekend?
B: Well, some friends of mine invited me to go hiking with them. If only I had some reason to get out of it...
A: What about our date?
B: Oh, that's right! Our date! How silly of me to let that slip my mind. Y'know what? I probably forgot because someone forgot to give me a call so we could discuss what we would be doing on our date. Did you lose my number or something?
A: Y'know, that's exactly what happened. I was planning on calling you, but I lost your number!
B: Why, how careless of you! I suppose I'll have to give it to you again.
A: Yes, I agree.
B hands over her number on a slip of paper and A departs.
C: Did you really have a date with him?
B: No, but I do now.

In other news, fans of the Starfighter webcomic (from the creator [info] hamlet_machine) will be pleased to note that the first chapter is now available to purchase in comic book form. $14 of full color pages. Being of graphic adult content, this is 18+, kiddies.

Also, [info] zas and [info] journalestaloco are creating a "kickass robot comic" entitled EDGEWATER. Funding of their project will be rewarded with prizes! Check out the link for the details.

who wants to share writerly squee with me?
After months and months of not touching the keyboard, thanks to mini_nanowrimo, I'm back to writing daily. Each day in November (so far), I've managed to write at least 100 words. Go me!

But that's not the object of this post.

I've been thinking about what to do when Mini Nano is over. How to kick my butt and stay with the writing daily? And I've come up with an idea:

Is there anyone who'd like to open up a writer's group, so to speak (via email or whatever), where we can report our word counts, keep each other on track, and squee about our writing? I was thinking maybe we could give out prompts if someone fails their target or some such. What do you think, anybody for it? *puppy eyes*

thankful for unemployment?

I went to the supermarket yesterday.  There were fairly long lines with the pre-Thanksgiving crowd and the cashiers were hauling whole turkeys over the scanners.

I was very grateful not to be working in a supermarket anymore.

In fact, the market was always open on Thanksgiving and I started working there in September of 2006 so this is going to be the first Thanksgiving since 2005 where I won’t have to go to work.

NC17 Pro-fic
Thanks (I think) to fjm on lj for pointing me at the winners of this year's Bad Sex Awards these are definitely NC17, all het-male pov and confirm my belief that, in this area at least, amateurs do it better.

Though I have to admit that I don't think that Richard Millward belongs in this company - his scene has an authentic ring to it, and at least has the virtue of being intentionally funny.
