This is the sort of story that makes me ashamed to call myself a writer- not because it's rubbish, but because it's
so god damned good that it hurts my ego.
I was initially drawn to it because of its name, and once I started reading, I couldn't stop. The voices of the characters are
perfect down to the last syllable. The premise is one of the most original wartime plots I've read in a long time (and isn't
that a testament to how good it is, that I'm reading a wartime story). Even the author's original character fits in seamlessly with the rest of the wizarding universe like he was a creation of Rowling herself.
There is plenty of emotion, plenty of humor (the interactions between characters are bloody priceless), and a plot that will leave you blinking at your monitor and thinking, 'Why the hell couldn't
I have come up with that?'
Oh, and 10 points to the author's house of choice for writing such a devilishly sexy Voldemort. Dark Lords don't get much hotter than this, people.
