Summary: It’ll probably be a surprise when I tell you that this story doesn’t take place in one of Voldemort’s secret lairs, or during some bloody skirmish in the highlands of Scotland. It takes place in a different kind of lair, in a house in London that was its own kind of battlefield.

Author's Notes: I'm not sure what happened here. I set out to write porn, and ended up with a convoluted disaster that has a strange sort of charm (if you ignore the fact that the last 1/3 was completed between the hours of 4am and 6am). Written from Sirius' point of view in the same conversational style as Lonesome No More (though not nearly as good). Completely un-revised and un-beta'ed, which is probably appropriate in a strange sort of way, since this is for nehalenia and ships_harry who have been patiently waiting for me to finish The Love Song of Sirius Black so they can work their magic on it without fear of me telling them 'So I changed this and that for the fourth time this week'.

( Leave it to Snape to sum up three important inquiries in one question that sounds like it doesn’t matter one way or another. That’s just one of the things that makes him a complete fucking git. )
